Imani (Swahili for “faith”) began creating artistic and imaginative designs at a very early age. She nurtured the “creative” through dance, art and modeling and found herself walking the fashion runways for Ford Modeling agency by the age of 15. Jewelry design allows her the opportunity to unite her love for God, art, travel, fashion and natural objects; integrating them into her daily life and livelihood. The materials she incorporates into her designs are leather, silver, gold, recycled glass beads and gemstones selected from around the world. While healing stones form the backdrop of her designs, Imani continually strives to maintain a balance between the natural beauty of the stone and the creative beauty of her designs. Imani’s hand-crafted pieces have gained recognition throughout the United States and internationally. She has designed specially commissioned pieces for Her Royal Majesty Queen Mother of Bafokeng South Africa; London recording artist Cecilia Stalin; Leah Daughtry, former Executive Director of the National Democratic Committee and Joyce Stansell-Wong, Vice President of Holly Hunt. Her pieces have also been worn by Grammy nominees and recording artist Les Nubians; Susan L. Taylor, creator of Essence Magazine and model Naima from America’s Next Top Model. Her collections are found in boutiques throughout the U.S. Currently living in Brooklyn, New York, Imani continues to take risks with her designs and takes pride in the growth of her company. “I have been blessed with a gift to create a unique line of jewelry and am exciting to share it with the world” says Miller. Her passion to create took her to Oberlin College where she earned a B.A. in Studio Art with a concentration in sculpture and installation art; but it was not until she began designing one of a kind, handmade Jewelry that her true calling was revealed.
